The FA has recently been looking at ways to improve young people's experience of football, raise standards and, essentially, produce better players using a child-centred and developmental approach. The study has been conducted by Nick Levett, FA National Development Manager for Youth and Mini-Soccer, and Les Howie, Head of Grassroots Football.
Nick and Les will be visiting South Yorkshire on Wednesday 11th April to deliver a presentation, which will explain their findings and detail how and why changes to the game should and need to be made. The presentation will also provide more information on the time-scales they are going to be working to and why the research was originally commissioned. This will be followed by an opportunity to ask questions either generic to the youth review or specific to the impact on your league/club.
Places will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis and the event will be held at The Holiday Inn, West Bawtry Road, Rotherham, S60 4NA between 7.30 and 9.00pm. Two Club Officials from all youth clubs will be allowed. Currently there is space for 50 people, 25 clubs. If you are interested in attending please contact Matt Handley at

The League Management Committee have made the General Meeting of all member clubs scheduled for Monday 13th February a Special General Meeting. This means that the meeting is authorised to deal with the adoption of a new set of League Rules and also decide upon the possible adoption of 9v9 football for the Under 11's for season 2012/13. The proposed new rules and the result of the questionnaire on 9v9 have been sent to every Club Secretary already. This is a very significant meeting and so it is very important that every club is represented. Each Member Club is entitled to send two delegates and each Club is entitled to one vote only as are members of the LMC. The representative of each club is not limited solely to the Secretary but could be for example the Chair, Treasurer, CWO or Committee Member. The meeting will be held as normal at Doncaster RUFC, Castle Park, Armthorpe Road, Doncaster, DN2 5QB starting promptly at 7.00 pm. |

Doncaster Wolverines will be holding a two minutes silence before their game on Sunday 29th January in remembrance of two boys who died tragically one year ago. Michael Gallagher who played for Wolverines and his friend Tom Hughes who was once a member of Bessacarr FC.
We also remember Craig Cooke, who helped train the Under 8's at Scawthorpe Scorpions JFC, who was tragically killed just one week later.
Our thoughts are with all family and friends of those concerned. |

The rearranged fixtures have now been issued and can be found under the Fixtures pull down menu. If there is a problem you must contact the Registration Secretary in the League Office as soon as possible as we expect the games to be played on the dates shown. There are some mid-week games for most age groups which is necessary and any additional cancellations will be done at a later date. Fixtures are deemed to be accepted unless objections are received within fourteen days of their issue which in the case of these fixtures is Monday 6th February. Clubs can bring forward a league fixture if mutually agreed but League Office and the relevant Age Group Administrator must be informed in writing prior to the game going ahead. Under 16's will follow shortly. |
