The rearranged fixtures have now been issued and can be found under the Fixtures pull down menu. If there is a problem you must contact the Registration Secretary in the League Office as soon as possible as we expect the games to be played on the dates shown. There are some mid-week games for most age groups which is necessary and any additional cancellations will be done at a later date. Fixtures are deemed to be accepted unless objections are received within fourteen days of their issue which in the case of these fixtures is Monday 6th February. Clubs can bring forward a league fixture if mutually agreed but League Office and the relevant Age Group Administrator must be informed in writing prior to the game going ahead. Under 16's will follow shortly.

Doncaster's football community lost one of it's unsung hero's on Friday 6th January when Armthorpe Rovers JFC committee member Maureen Cottam passed away.

Maureen became involved with Armthorpe Rovers when her son Neil started playing in the mid 80's. Her husband Eric became involved in coaching and was also Club Treasurer. When Eric passed away Maureen took over as Club Treasurer and later in 1998 she took on the role of Secretary.

Never one to hog the limelight Maureen worked tirelessly in the background to keep the club running and therefore provided organised football for Armthorpe youngsters and all the visiting teams. She was also Armthorpe Welfare FC Secretary for a good number of years. Working full time at the Work and Pension office in Doncaster, all this voluntary work was done in her spare time.

She was also a keen follower of Liverpool FC, football was a huge part of her life and she will be sadly missed by all at Armthorpe Rovers and in the wider football community of the Doncaster area.

Doncaster and District Junior Sunday Football League offers its condolences to Maureen's family and friends. For those who wish to pay their respects to Maureen the funeral service will take place on Tuesday 24th January at 2.40 pm at Rose Hill Crematorium.

We would like to express our sincere thanks to the clubs who have made their grounds available to us for these games. It is very much appreciated. 

The voting has closed and Danum United Under 11's have been announced as the winners of the second Free Press Team of the Month award. Danum won the award after receiving around 50% of the public vote and they will receive tickets for a Rovers game of their choice after the club joined with Doncaster Free Press and the DDJSFL to organise this competition. Division One Danum have had a very successful season so far and finished the year with a league record of eight wins out of eight games, scoring 63 and conceding just seven. They are still in with a chance of a Division One, Cup and Goole & Thorne Cup treble.

The Doncaster Free Press will be launching their new eight-page supplement about the DDJSFL on Thursday 26th January which will feature a special profile on one of our clubs along with a round-up of all the action and plenty of pictures. This is another very exciting development for our League, and our major sponsor is working very hard to promote and feature us, so please go out and buy a copy!
